Lianne and Joe, lots and lots of pretty things

Back in May, I had the pleasure of arranging the flowers for Lianne and Joe's Wedding at Turkey Mill, Maidstone. I met Lianne over a year prior to their Wedding and the plans defiantly evolved through that time, from a change of colour and styling!

The theme in the end was a navy colour running through the day, with Bridesmaids dresses, ties and chair sashes, but Lianne wanted a softer, Lacey and very pretty look to compliment it- so we added lots of blush pink, champagne and warmer pink tones? With here favourite flower being peonies, I made these a focal point in her bouquet, which was teamed with sweet avalanche roses, spray rosebuds, lisianthus and white lilac. I really loved the detail of bringing the lace from Lianne's gorgeous fishtail dress through to the stems on her bouquet, and navy satin on the girls.

The showcase for me at this wedding was the stunning feature of running gypsophila across the length of the Bridge where Lianne would start her walk to meet Joe. It looked amazing! And well worth the time when you see the beautiful pictures.

For the reception, I arranged full domes of scented flowers on candelabras with crystal details hanging from the arms for a touch of extra sparkle! The top table was in the middle of the room and had an extra ring of flowers around the base. Gorgeous!

Amanda and Damien, lace, love and happy ever after...

21st September was the wedding of Amanda and Damien, which took place at Cooling Castle barn. Amanda and I met on and off for just over a year whilst the theme and styling all came together. The brief was to be elegant and romantic with a slight vintage feel brought through with the lace look.
Amanda wore a beautiful lace fishtail dress with a long flowing veil to match her hair style. The brides dream was to have peonies in her bouquet, but it is always tricky as you reach the later summer months. The three weeks before there weren't any but as I arrived at the market earlier in the week before the wedding, there they were! I teamed these with blousey roses, lisianthus, bouvardia and scabious which had the perfect "lacy" look.
The bridesmaids wore navy blue floor length fitted dresses and held similar version to the Bride. Three beautiful little flower girls scattered faux petals down the aisle... So cute.
Full and dramatic arrangements sat as a backdrop to the ceremony, setting off the whole look. Whilst the flowers on the table were statement pieces that filled the room. White covered chairs, sashes, fairly lights, lace and crystals all featured in the reception styling and all I could say once finished was "ooh sigh" x

Nicola and Greg, antique pink autumnal marquee

Friday 4th October I had the pleasure of arranging the flowers for Nicola and Greg's Church Wedding at Nurstead Court in Meopham, Kent.

The colour scheme was set as a white wedding with hint of vintage antique pink. Nicola wanted a pretty look, to match the marquee setting but also a little bit Autumnal. So I decided to use a gorgeous rose called faith which has mottled tones of pink through the petals with mostly white seasonal bloom and some lovely pink snowberry which is only around for a short period in October. This really added to the Autunmal feel.

Nicola wore a fishtail dress with a feature of fabric roses and ruffles on the lower skirt, the bridesmaids wore floor length dusky pink chiffon dress, with ruffled middle and I LOVED the circlet of gypsophila headresss that they wore.

This detail also continued throughout the floral theme as I arranged gypsophila bunches as pew ends in the Church and it was also dotted throughout the centrepieces.

Long time no Blog

Well as another Wedding Season draws to an end, I have yet to Blog a single thing about all the treats and delights that have gone on this year..Tut Tut Tut.

I have relocated to the countryside and am embrasing country living and I think all this outdoorsiness has rubbed off on my flowers as I been into herbs, garden grown blooms and the headgerow foliages.

For a brief summary the main colour trend has been mint, apricot (rarely mention the word peach) with a country garden vibe and of course the vintage look is still very popular. I am all jammed jared out and my family is a constant source of "here is another boxfull for you"

I have visited new venues, lots of home weddings, and of course the venues whom I love the most as they love me back, you know who you are!


There are lots of exciting things around the corner for 2014 and am looking forward to all of them.

I will back date all the lovelies from this years highlights now I have a chance to catch my breath!

Easter Elegance. Caroline and Peter

This Easter weekend- I had the pleasure of arranging the Wedding flowers for Caroline and Peter at Sundridge Park Mansion in Bromley. The black, white and silver theme works really well at this venue and has an elegant an classic feel. Caroline's favourite flower was the gerbera and so the theme of "black eye" gerberas became the main focus for the flowers.

 The Ceremony was set up in the Garden room and and the black and white looked amazing against the red carpet aisle. I arranged pedestals at the back of the room which added to the romance...along with the string quartet!

The staircase at Sundridge is a focal point of the Wedding as the Caroline will make her way down from here and so its lovely to dress as there are always lots of photo opportunities here- so its good make the most of that.

 The gorgeous cake was provided by Yummy Cake Company. Lots of sparkle and layers of geberas!

The Bridesmaids wore silver cocktail dresses and held simple domes of white gerberas and edged with foliage. The stems were bound in matching silver ribbon. Caroline's dress was an A line white satin dress with crystals on the bodice. The bridal bouquet was made up of white gerberas and ivory roses. Caroline wanted a modern touch and so I edged the dome with a collar of looped grass.  

As Caroline wanted to keep her bouquet but also wanted to do the traditional "throwing of the bouquet" I made a small throw bouquet of germinis and labelled it "Catch me if you can!..." LOVE IT.

The Ballroom was dressed with candelabras with domes of white, ivory and black flowers- Stunning! 

I used a classic combination of lilies, roses and hydrangeas (imported ones as its still very early for these!) and added the modern touch by bringing in the gerberas and some black foliage to add the detail.

The theme continued on the tables with black and white movie covers as their table names. I really like the Love and Mr and Mrs signs dotted on the tables. Really Lovely. I saw the new Mr and Mrs Nottage the morning after and Caroline told me she was "amazed and couldn't have wished for anything more" . X
